writing habit

 I have been away from my wonderful habit of writing every day so here I am back again.

Starting a new habit is an interesting thing. I think that when I feel inspired or motivated, I'll just start a bunch of new habits and try to keep up with a bunch until it all fades away. However, I just had an interesting idea. What if I had one habit to rule all habits? For example, I'll sit every Monday down and write down my progress. I'll organize and keep track of the habits I am following. The pattern I see here is that I will stick to the main 2 or 3 habits, while the others kind of fade away.

My energy battery is limited so I should question if every habit is really worth it. Right now I have the habit of working out, reading books, and meditating. On the flip side, I also watch a bunch of TV shows and movies, and I sleep very late. I have also ended some terrible habits such as smoking or drinking excessively, and video games. The compound effect is a tremendous thing, and just letting go of the negative habits has the same effect as unloading a 30kg backpack that I have been carrying around everywhere.


I am very glad that I decided to write today because I gained enormous clarity and confirmation that I am on the right track.
