2 weeks in
So it has been 2 weeks since I started the new venture. And I must admit the barrier to entry was a lot higher than I initially expected. I had to spend $5k just to get all the "rights" to start my business here. But compared to Prague it was a lot easier, so I can only imagine what kind of hell that must have been. But also it's a good thing that the barrier to entry is high here. It means that there will be less competition and will not be flooded with outside forces. Most importantly, there is no cap to how big I can grow the business here.
The objectives of my 1st trip to Budapest has been the following.
- [x] Business/ trading license
- [x] Bank account
- [x] Get apartment
- [x] Business Visa
- [ ] Start 1 airbnb unit
- Scout good locations
- Find realtors
- Find an interior design agent
- [ ] Find a Hungarian local assistant
And I am 67% done! Of course, starting 1 airbnb is the only thing that matters, to be honest, but getting a local assistant is also paramount.
There is no sport like this. The uncertainty, the constant problem-fixing, and the promise of riches beyond imagination at the other side of it!
I feel like Columbus right now. I can see the vision. I feel close to the promised lands.
I got a bit lazy last year after I hit my milestone of $10k/month. However, this time around, I will be playing the infinite game, not the finite game. My goal will be to create and grow a household short-term rental brand. BARON HOMES. How powerful is that name? I will create a fittingly powerful brand that captures and makes the people enamored with it. It will be the first thing that comes to people's minds when they think of vacation. It will stretch from the Caribbean across Dubai and Europe to East Asia, encompassing the world.
The Baron Homes experience will be 10x more powerful than the average airbnb experience. It will be all people can talk about for months until they finally leave on that vacation.
As of right now, I need to find an apartment I can work with and make it airbnb ready. Then go through the registration process. And finally find a local assistant.
It's a simple 3 step process.
So today I will do some house chores and then work on reaching out to the landlords. It will be the true beginning of the venture!
